Sharing & Giving

God our Father is gracious and gave us His all: His Son, Jesus Christ. In response He invites us to share with each other, giving as we are able (Acts 11:29). God instituted a practice of giving for a number of reasons: first and foremost as an act of worship to Him as the supplier of all that we are and have.

Giving is also an act of faith and discipline for followers of Jesus to give back to Him from the first of what we have received and in proportion of that which has been entrusted to us. We are called to be stewards of: the earth (Genesis 1:26-2:4), the gospel (1 Corinthians 4:1ff); our time (Matthew 25:1-13; Mark 1:15); our talent (Matthew 25:14-30; Romans 12:1-8); and our resources (Leviticus 27:30; Matthew 6:21; Luke 18:18-27; 2 Corinthians 9). All of life is gift; all we have is gift.

It is God's intention that we may share with each other and that our life would be characterized by generosity and hospitality. In the same manner also our giving would grow out of a grateful heart, overflowing with thankfulness. It is God's intention that giving in this fashion would also supply His church with the necessary resources to meet the needs of the community and extend His kingdom.

Members and regular participants of McIvor Church are taught and encouraged to give accordingly as God has blessed them.

If you are a guest of McIvor Church, we ask that you not feel obligated in any way to participate in the offering. Our hope is that you would experience the hospitality and acceptance of God's people as you visit with us.
